Our History of tobacco producers
A long history of skills and passion for work
We are a family business in the tobacco sector since 1791.
Our activity started on the island of Solta with Antonio Marino, an aristocratic Italian-speaking Austrian ancestor. He started the tobacco trade, transporting it by sea from the Mediterranean to continental Europe.
His sons Georg and Friedrich took the reins and reinforced the activity. After the First World War, they founded tobacco production companies in Germany, Greece, Bulgaria, Romania, Turkey and Italy. Thanks to them, Italian Flair has become one of the most successful tobacco production companies
Our family tradition has always been concerned with maintaining our social position through hard and professional work throughout the generations. We have always been conservative and have preferred safe results to speculative magnitude. Nevertheless, we survived for such a long period because we have always been extremely innovative. Moreover, we have invested a great deal in our research and innovation in our specific field.
We are a family company in the tobacco domain since 1791 when our forefather Antonio Marino an Italian speaking Austrian Aristocrat, from the Island of Solta (the ancient greek Olyntha of the IV century a.c. ), started his international business. Initially he specialized in the transport by sea of tobacco from Izmir to Hamburg, his headquarters being in Constantinople.
